Highlights for Texas Professionals
Malicious Traffic Distribution Systems (Jun 18)
Attackers inject code or ads that silently redirect visitors from legitimate sites to credential-harvesting pages. Law firms, CPA practices, and dealerships with marketing landing pages should verify third-party scripts and ad tags.
Parcel Owner Impersonation (Jun 16)
Fraudsters impersonate property owners to list and sell real estate they do not control. Title companies and real estate brokerages should reinforce out-of-band verification for seller identity and wire instructions.
Crypto Courier Cash Collection (Jun 15)
Investment scammers send couriers to collect physical cash after grooming victims online. Financial advisors and elder-care providers should watch for clients suddenly liquidating accounts for “safe” offline transfers.
Hospice Fraud (Jun 3)
Medicare-focused fraud rings are expanding. Healthcare administrators should audit enrollment workflows and billing anomalies.
FIFA World Cup Spoofing (May 27)
Expect phishing sites selling fake tickets, streaming logins, and travel packages through the summer. Train staff not to click tournament-themed promotions in work email.
